Rental terms

Our rental terms, in plain English

This page summarises what you are agreeing to when you rent a van from us. The signed rental agreement you receive before collection is the binding document — this is here so nothing in it is a surprise.

1. Who can rent and drive

  • Drivers must be at least 21 and hold a licence valid for the vehicle category in the UAE.
  • Every driver must be named on the agreement. An unnamed driver invalidates the insurance and makes you liable for any loss.
  • Companies rent against a valid trade licence, with a letter authorising each named driver.
  • We may decline a booking, including after a deposit is paid, if documents cannot be verified. Any payment taken is refunded in full.

2. Payment and deposit

  • Hire charges are payable in advance. Monthly contract customers with a trade licence are invoiced monthly.
  • A refundable security deposit of AED 1,000 to 3,000 applies depending on the vehicle. It is normally waived on contracts of three months or more.
  • The deposit is refunded in full once the van is returned and any Salik and traffic fines have appeared against the plate, normally within 30 days.
  • All rates are exclusive of 5% VAT.

3. What the rate includes

Comprehensive insurance, vehicle registration, scheduled servicing and maintenance, roadside assistance, a replacement vehicle if yours becomes unusable, and delivery and collection within Dubai.

4. What you pay separately

Fuel, Salik tolls, traffic fines incurred during your hire, kilometres beyond the included allowance, delivery outside Dubai, and VAT. Salik and fines are billed at cost with no handling charge added. Full amounts are on the rates page.

5. Mileage

TermIncludedExcess
Daily150 km per dayAED 0.50 – 0.80 per km
Weekly1,000 km per weekAED 0.50 – 0.80 per km
Monthly3,500 km per monthAED 0.50 – 0.80 per km

6. Using the vehicle

  • Do not exceed the stated payload, and secure and sheet any load in line with UAE traffic law.
  • The van may not be sub-rented, used for hire and reward without our written agreement, used to tow, or driven off-road.
  • No smoking in any vehicle. Chiller vans must be returned empty and washed out.
  • Taking a van outside the UAE, including to Oman, requires our written permission and additional insurance arranged in advance.
  • Fuel should be returned at the level recorded at handover.

7. Damage, accidents and breakdowns

  • Vehicle condition is photographed at handover and on return. Both sets of photos are available to you. What a driver should do at the scene is set out in the damage and accidents guide.
  • In any accident, call the police from the scene. UAE insurers will not process a claim without a police report.
  • Comprehensive insurance applies subject to the excess stated in your agreement. Damage caused by misuse, overloading, or driving under the influence is not covered and is charged to you.
  • If a van breaks down through no fault of yours, we recover it and provide a replacement at no extra charge.

8. Changes, extensions and cancellation

  • Cancel more than 24 hours before collection and there is no charge. Inside 24 hours, one day is charged.
  • Extensions are usually possible if the van is not booked after you. Tell us as early as you can.
  • Late returns are charged at AED 30 per hour.
  • Monthly contracts roll month to month and either side may end them with 30 days’ notice.

9. Governing law

Rental agreements are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates and the Emirate of Dubai, and any dispute falls to the Dubai Courts.
