How far we go
Straight-line road distance from our yard, so you can judge the mileage before you pick a daily or weekly rate. Al Ain and Fujairah are both about 130 km and are regular runs — ask us to price those as a route.
On the road
What changes from one part of Dubai to the next
The van is the same everywhere. The streets, the parking and the rules at the gate are not, and they decide how long a job actually takes.
Deira, Bur Dubai and Karama
The older districts pack shops, stores and flats into narrow streets with very little kerb space. Deliveries there go smoothest early in the morning, before the lanes fill with parked cars and handcarts, and a shorter van turns in the back streets far more easily than a long one. Paid parking covers most of these areas, so a van left standing while the driver carries a load inside can pick up a ticket that ends up on your invoice.
Al Quoz, Ras Al Khor and Al Qusais
The industrial belts are the easy part of the city for a van. Roads are wide, yards have room to reverse, and builders’ merchants, trade counters and warehouses load vehicles all day long. Trucks work here without difficulty as well, so the bigger bodies that struggle in the old centre make sense for collections from these areas.
Towers in Business Bay, Downtown and Dubai Marina
High-rise districts move goods through basement loading bays and service lifts, and the building manages both. Expect a height barrier at the ramp, a booking for the bay or the lift, and fixed hours for moving furniture. Ask building management before the day rather than at the barrier; the moving house guide covers what towers usually ask for.
Gated villa communities
Communities such as Arabian Ranches and Emirates Hills run security gates that log every vehicle coming in, and larger deliveries or furniture moves often need the resident to register the van with community management in advance. The villa itself is usually the easy part: a driveway to reverse onto and no lift to book. Send the plate number to the resident the day before and the gate takes a minute rather than a phone call.
Jebel Ali Free Zone and the port
Jebel Ali Free Zone controls who comes through its gates. Visitors and their vehicles need a gate pass through the Tasreeh system, normally requested by the company being visited, and cargo taken in or out needs its own e-gate pass through Dubai Trade, valid for 48 hours. Arrange both with the company at the other end before the van sets off, because a driver turned away at the gate has lost the morning.
Getting a price
What to send us for an accurate quote
A quote is only as good as the details behind it. These are the details that change the price or the vehicle, and why each one matters.
Start with what you are moving rather than the van you think you need. A short description with the measurements of the largest item, or a photo of the load, lets us size the vehicle properly. Give the weight as well if the load is dense, such as tiles, water or stock on pallets, because the payload runs out before the space does.
Then the addresses and the dates. Delivery is free inside Dubai, but an address in another emirate adds a delivery charge and often changes which rate makes sense: a Dubai to Abu Dhabi round trip uses up the daily mileage allowance on its own, and a job that runs past six days is cheaper on a weekly rate. Send the start and end dates, and the times if the van is needed early or coming back late.
Tell us who is driving. For self-drive we need to know which licence the driver holds and whether they live in the UAE or are visiting, because the 3-tonne chiller and the trucks need more than a car licence. If nobody has the right licence, we add a driver. For a company booking, we also need a copy of the trade licence and a signed letter authorising each driver.
Last, anything unusual: a chilled or frozen load and the temperature it has to hold, a site with a height limit or a gate pass, a building with fixed moving hours, or a return that has to fall on a Friday. Each of these changes the vehicle or the plan, and hearing about them in the first message is how the quote you receive stays the price you pay.
Questions
Before you book
What documents do I need to rent a van?
Individuals need a valid UAE driving licence, Emirates ID and passport copy. Companies also need a trade licence and a letter authorising the driver. Visitors on a tourist visa need a passport, visa page and an accepted international or home-country licence.
Is there a security deposit?
Yes — AED 1,000 to 3,000 depending on the vehicle. It is refunded in full once the van is returned and any Salik and fines have cleared, normally within 30 days.
Who pays for Salik and traffic fines?
You do, for anything incurred during your hire. Salik crossings and fines are billed at cost once they appear against the vehicle — we do not add a handling charge on top.
Is there a mileage limit?
150 km a day on daily hires, 1,000 km a week, and 3,500 km a month. Extra kilometres are AED 0.50 to 0.80 depending on the vehicle, and it is stated in your agreement.
What happens if the van breaks down?
Message us and we arrange recovery. If the van cannot be fixed quickly we send a replacement so your job is not sitting still.
Can I take the van to Oman?
Only with written permission and additional Oman insurance arranged in advance. Tell us before you book — crossing without it invalidates your cover.
Do you rent to companies on monthly invoicing?
Yes. Monthly and long-term contracts can be invoiced against your trade licence, with one invoice covering the whole fleet, and normally with no security deposit.
What is the shortest time I can rent a van for?
One day for self-drive hire. If the job only needs a few hours of loading and driving, booking the van with one of our drivers is usually the simpler way to do it.
